Born 1993 in Tokyo, Japan, Ochiai grew up in Sumida city, a downtown area of Tokyo. He graduated with a BA from the department of Oil Painting at Tama Art University, Japan. He currently studies in the Global Art Practice MFA program at Tokyo University of the Arts. He is interested in the relationships and borders between the self and others who possess different identities, and the human consciousness and behaviors surrounding such relations. Primarily working with projects, installations, paintings and videos, Ochiai aims for a cross-disciplinary practice that is not constrained within the field of contemporary art. Recent exhibitions include EWAAC2016 the 7th East West Art Award Finalists’ Exhibition (London) and Dai Yulin × Motoyo Ochiai ROPPONGI ART WEEK 2017 (Tokyo).

1993年東京の下町墨田区で生まれ育つ。2017年多摩美術大学油画専攻卒業。現在、東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科グローバルアートプラクティス専攻在学。「自分」と「異なる性質を持つ他者」の関係におけるその境界線、それについての意識や行動に関心を寄せる。主にプロジェクト、インスタレーション、ペインティング、ビデオを用い、現代美術の領域にとらわれない活動を目指す。主な展示に、｢EWAAC第7回2016イースト・ウエスト・アート大賞ファイナリスト展｣（LA GALLERIA PALL MALL、ロンドン）、｢ダイユーリン×落合元世 ROPPONGI α ART WEEK 2017｣（Hideharu Fukasaku Gallery Roppongi、東京）など。
